started watching "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" several months ago via Netflix, but I got terribly interrupted by school work, the "Heroes" season 2 DVD release, catching up on ever season of "The Office" that's on DVD, traveling to see my family, praying that my car didn't die, attempting to keep in touch with faraway friends, and spending my little remaining free time catching up on sleep.
Needing a break and wanting some wind down time before bed last night, I popped in the first disc of the second season of "Buffy." I completed the first season, then watched this disc before getting wrapped up in other stuff, so I decided to get it again so as not to miss any exciting moment of the campy, thrilling drama.
But "Buffy" has something "Power Rangers" didn't (other than an audience who didn't need an adult to reach the buttons on the TV): Good acting. Not kidding. The acting in "Buffy" is really good. Cast aside your doubts about the likelihood of the plotlines and the relationships between the students and the crazy school librarian, the nerds and the popular girl, the vampire and the vampire slayer. The acting totally makes it believable. There could not be more tension in the Buffy-Xander-Willow love triangle if it were real. Even though the show is ridiculous, the acting has somehow dragged me, and I'm loving this show.

Robert R. Best - Tamara Review
So, Tamara is into spells and such. That fact and her name remind me of Tara from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Maybe we should skip reviewing Tamara and instead sit quietly and think about what a good show Buffy was.
Ah. Nice.
Anyway, back to Tamara.
Tamara is into spells and is a bit of a social outcast at school. Some other kids decide to play a prank on her and, like all pranks in all horror movies for all time, the prank goes badly. So badly that Tamara is killed.
Hey, now that I think of it, Tara on Buffy was also killed.
What a good show Buffy was.
Oh, sorry.
So, Tamara is killed in a prank gone bad. But the magic she's been into causes her to come back from the dead. And it somehow makes her sexy, too. Because nothing says sexy like reanimated corpses bent on revenge.
Did I mention she's bent on revenge? Do I need to? You know how these movies work. What do you think she'd come back for, ice cream?
Mmmm, ice cream.
I guess my point is that it's easy to get distracted while thinking about this movie. It's just very typical, and not quite well made enough to rise above that. Bleh.

After a six-year hiatus, we may finally be getting more of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, this time as a feature film. According to reports from ShowbizSpy.com, Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played the teenaged vampire hunter for seven years on television, is in talks to reprise her role as Buffy Ann Summers in a film sequel to the series.
Insider reports say that the idea for the script has the story picking up with an older Buffy, who might even be a mother. The report further says that while Gellar is currently busy with other projects, she is excited about the idea. "Buffy still has a huge fan-base," the insider says "So this is a movie that already has an audience." It is further pointed out that "Michelle is a shrewd businesswoman so the chances are this will happen at some point."
Ironically, this wouldn't be the first time that the character of Buffy has appeared on the big screen. Years before Buffy the Vampire Slayer came to television sets, there was a Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie starring Kristy Swanson. The film was mostly ignored by the television series - and by fans of the series - although the first episode of the show suggests that the events of the movie at least partially happened for the version of the character played by Gellar.
If a Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie does happen, it would mark the second time that one of Joss Whedon's shows has lived on in film form, the first happening with Serenity, which was the film follow-up to the critically successful, but commercially unsuccessful Firefly. Of greater speculation is how much of the cast of the show would be available for the film, with most of the other cast members busy with their own television shows (Alyson Hannigan on How I Met Your Mother, David Boreanaz on Bones and Eliza Dushku on Dollhouse).

'Buffy the Vampire' creator honored at Harvard
Cultural titan Joss Whedon, creator of popular television shows including "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Firefly," and "Dollhouse," was honored for his efforts to explore ideas about morality and faith by a student group at Harvard University last Friday night.

3 Kinds of Guys:An Introduction
There are three basic guys on quality teen television if you watch shows like the Gilmore Girls, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Veronica Mars enough their men and their drama with them start blending into one. I mean there are other obvious parallels between the three shows other than just who they go for: strong female leads with single parents and joined by a rag tag of misfits thing, but I like to focus on my favorite aspect the romantic. In all three shows the heroines (Buffy, Veronica, and Rory) go through 3 significant relationship through the course of the show and all 3 of these men fit into basically the same archtypes (though Gilmore Girls strays most from the timeline), which I'm now kind of linking to quality teen shows: there's the first love which I like to call the Angel, the wonder bread steady boring which I call the Dean, and the so seemingly wrong its right which of course I call the Logan. Join me as I start another series (missed them didn't you, and clearly judging by my writing I'm rusty on) taking a journey through our favorite and most hated loves.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Buffy Summers and her gang know that Sunnydale is a haven for outsiders, whether of the supernatural or strictly adolescent variety. Shy transfer student Kevin Sanderson is no exception. But Kevin instantly finds a mentor in Daniel, a paleontologist and fellow dino-phile at the Sunnydale Museum of Natural History. When Buffy starts hearing rumors of alligators in the sewers, she has to wonder about Kevin and Daniel's hobbies.
