Dollhouse

After its first episode aired last month, I wasn’t so sure about this show. But because it comes from the brilliant mind of Joss Whedon, I kept watching (in case you’re not a fangirl like me, Whedon is the man who gave us “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Angel” and “Firefly”).
And it’s paid off, as “Dollhouse” has quickly become must-see-TV.
The show centers on Echo (Eliza Dushku), a member of a highly illegal and underground group of people who have their personalities regularly wiped clean, so they can be imprinted with new ones at the request of wealthy and powerful clients.
Dushku, whom I never really liked much as Faith on “Buffy,” has done an admirable job of channeling Echo’s ever-shifting personalities. So far, we’ve seen her as a backup singer, a tough-as-nails safecracker, a fun-loving adventure seeker and a blind woman on a pilgrimage to join a cult.
Meanwhile, she’s got two men after her: a handsome FBI agent investigating the Dollhouse, which most believe to be an urban legend, and rogue doll Alpha, who escaped from the facility, but remains obsessed with her.
We haven’t even seen Alpha’s face yet, but he’s already become the show’s most intriguing character.
It can only get better from here.
