A good biography about an actor.

When I was growing up I spent many a Saturday afternoon at the movies. As I grew older it was Friday or Saturday evening at the movies with one of my girlfrieds! This was to some a "Golden Era" in Hollywood. If you grew up in the 40's & 50's you will probably enjoy reading this. The young Hollywood "hunks" of this time were Robert "RJ" Wagner, Tab Hunter, Tony Curtis, Eddie Fisher, James Dean, Sal Mineo, Rock Hudson, the list goes on.

This book is Robert Wagner's story from his childhood through his career in movies and eventually TV, his loves, his marriages, the tragic death of Natalie Wood, his many friends, his three daughters, two stepsons and his life. It is well told, an interesting look into another time in entertainment, sustaining friendships in a town not known for its loyalty. It is candid, at times funny, at times sad, a walk back through many years of a career.

This brought back a lot of memories for me. I remember the movie With a Song in my Heart, starring Susan Hayward and a very young actor with a small part, Robert Wagner. At that time I was 12/13 and thought he was so handsome! Since then I have enjoyed many of his movies, TV shows both series and guest apperances, most recently he has had a re-occuring role on Two and a Half Men. There is something about his voice that stays with me.

This is a book I was able to get at the library. I am going to reluctantly give it back to them! If this is an era you would enjoy reading about don't miss this book.
